About
Nashville-based, Country-Folk artist, Dan O’Rourke, was conventionally raised on the music of his parents. Steeped in the folk-revival era and classic rock of the 60’s and 70’s, the fingerprints of those influences are unmistakable in both the melodic style and lyricism of his songs. Storytelling lies at the epicenter of his music as his down-to-earth approach so obviously reflects his passion for exploring what life has to offer, both the good and the bad. Capturing the beauty in his lyrics and melodies, O’Rourke’s rich, textured, and soulful tone showcases his talent as a contemporary classic. Continuing to write and release new music Dan has been busy since his release of his full-length album in 2019 called “Desert Rose.” Along with the release of new singles such as “For That Matter” and “Back to the Way Things Were.”
As the world closed its doors during the pandemic in 2020, Dan started a new project called “The Woods” which features three-part harmony with Raquel Cole and Leland Rooney. They are a true throwback to the songs and influences that initially inspired their varied musical pursuits, and they continually pay homage to the music that moves them through a style that is, at once, both familiar and progressive…newness and nostalgia in every song. While he’s directed his focus on The Woods, he still has a passion for writing and recording his solo original tunes and is currently working on releasing music in 2023.
